Local Community

With cafes popping up left, right and centre across Bayside Melbourne, you’re spoiled for choice come Sunday morning! Finding the best brunch shouldn’t be a hard task – so the breakfasting connoisseurs at C&G have made a shortlist you can make short work of this weekend. Enjoy!

Brighton Soul

129 Church St, Brighton

There is good reason this little Brighton café is always chock full of people, day in, day out. Offering an extensive menu, great coffee, doughnuts and pastries whilst also focusing on fresh and wholesome food – there is something for everyone at this popular local. Our pick is the ‘garden bircher’ which comes with an edible chocolate soil and looks almost too pretty too eat!

Bluff Town

Shop 1, 18-34 Station Street, Sandringham

Just a stone’s throw away from the beach, this gorgeous café with a sleek interior, seasonal food and speciality coffee is one to add to your list. With windows surrounding the exterior of the café, you can expect natural light year-round (which makes for great Instagram posts of your tasty fare!). Make sure to try the Korean chilli scrambled eggs and of course, a coffee. Dog friendly, too!

Frank’s

97 Cavanagh St, Cheltenham

There is a simple ethos behind this new local gem, and that is, ‘a place that’s Frank’. In essence – Frank’s is a humble, relaxed establishment where the staff know your name and your coffee order, a place to pick up a bite to eat on your way to work or a slow Sunday morning brunch. Catering for all dietary requirements, there are an array of interesting menu items to please everyone. On the more decadent side of their menu are mini cinnamon doughnuts with lemon curd torched meringue, ice cream and strawberries – yum!

The Hamptons Bakery

427 Hampton street, Hampton

‘It’s all about the bread’, here at this stunning cafe in amongst the hustle and bustle of Hampton Street. As their slogan suggests, their focus is on epic pastries and artisan sourdough bread. Stop by for a coffee and croissant, or stay a bit longer and enjoy a burger, salad or decadent brunch. Open 7 days a week, the Hamptons Bakery is a café you can count on!

The Diplomat Café

4 Railway Parade, Highett

Sitting somewhere between fine dining and fast food, the Diplomat in Highett is your place to go for family brunch, daily coffee or a treat-yoself kind of meal. Breakfast buckwheat waffles are our pick, served with smoked chorizo, baked beans, feta and a poached egg. The greenery covering the ceiling and walls offers a calm and cool setting, whilst you sip on your coffee or weekly milkshake special. Open 7 days a week (including public holidays).
