Bright Futures: Meet Michael-Angelo

At C&G, we love to foster emerging talent! No future agent is more enthusiastic, committed or harder-working than Michael-Angelo Axis. Aged almost seven, this Brighton boy has a mop of curly black hair, bright blue eyes and an articulate politeness that has our entire team absolutely charmed! While it’s all super cute, we’re convinced (along with his supportive mum, Poppy) that he’ll become an amazing agent once he’s old enough to enter the industry. We spoke to the bright-eyed six-year-old to find out what’s inspired him to pursue an avid interest in property.

Early beginnings

When we asked Michael-Angelo what got him interested in real estate, he said he heard his dad talking about property when he was younger and started to like it. As his understanding grew, he became quite passionate. ‘I think it (real estate) is enjoyable,’ he says. ‘It makes me happy and I like the idea of selling houses to people.’

Staying up-to-date with the market

According to mum Poppy, one of the ways that Michael-Angelo is able to stay up-to-date with current listings is by visiting real estate agencies in the Bayside area, and looking at brochures. When choosing one off the wall, he looks for ‘new houses that come up, and ‘ones that look nice.’

‘He is very particular about which brochures he takes home,’ says Alison Ball, Head of Property Management at Chisholm & Gamon. ‘He knows all the facts and figures about the properties.’

We also hear that this bright young man has made collages from his favourite brochures at home, and that the variety of properties C&G have on offer (in addition to the colour orange) are his favourite things about our Elwood office.

The ‘Open for Inspection’

Michael-Angelo doesn’t get to many auctions at present as he helps his mum at work on Saturdays – but that doesn’t mean he can’t showcase properties! One day, Poppy arrived back to find her home ‘Open for Inspection’, and Michael-Angelo standing proudly at the door in a tie, with a clipboard ready to take details. ‘I imagined that my mum was a client and I had my own real estate company,’ he says. ‘I was showing one of the properties I had open for inspection.’

Unsurprisingly, Michael-Angelo’s goal is to ‘become a good real estate agent and sell lots of property.’

‘I see Michael-Angelo wanting always to discover new things and continue his love of property,’ says Poppy Axis. ‘He keeps himself busy (and is) always interested in learning about the industry.’

A Bright Future

Chisholm & Gamon’s Director, Torsten Kasper, agrees that Michael-Angelo Axis possesses all the qualities of an excellent agent, although is presently a little young to do work experience at C&G. ‘As soon as he is old enough we would love to have him,’ agrees Alison Ball, Head of Property Management. It sounds like someone has a very bright future!
