C&G on Binge-Worthy TV for Property Lovers

Local Community

Been meaning to redecorate your living room? Fix a hole in the wall? Change a light bulb without falling off a ladder?  Sometimes you need a good old-fashioned TV binge session to feel motivated about hanging a painting on the wall or cultivating an herb garden. Today, C&G showcase our favorite TV shows about buying, selling or renovating property – be they humble abodes or grand manors!

Selling Houses Australia (Foxtel/Foxtel Go/Foxtel Play)

Real estate industry expert Andrew Winter provides solid commentary on the property market, offering salient tips on selling your home, no matter the market. Of course, if you are thinking of selling your home, make sure to speak to one of C&G’s talented team!

1-4 hours watched: You’re considering becoming a C&G agent yourself.

The Block (Channel 9/9now)

Large-scale renovations by amateurs who can’t tell the difference between a Phillips and Flathead screwdriver make for property entertainment at its best. Astounding transformations of run-down, derelict properties into high-rise apartments represent a Cinderella tale Aussies just can’t get enough of. As devotees of The Block will attest, the bickering and gossip between competing couples - especially when their walls are paper-thin - are just as good as the marble bathroom reveals.

3-6 hours watched: You’ve submitted your audition tape for the next series of The Block.

Million Dollar Listing (9Life/9now)

A touch of international glamour with your real estate? Million Dollar Listing is the franchise for you. From New York to LA and San Francisco, Million Dollar Listing is real estate reality TV at its gaudiest. Watch America’s leading ‘realtors’ attempt to create record-setting results for their clients. Easy gig, right?

7-10 hours watched: You’ve booked a flight to the US to see the hero-agents in action.

Grand Designs Australia (Foxtel/Foxtel Go/Foxtel Play)

The Australian version of Kevin McCloud’s popular Grand Designs franchise has finally graced our TV screens! The local version of Grand Designs demolishes the stereotype of the traditional Aussie home replete with a patio and Hill Hoist clothesline in the background. Instead, Peter Maddison and his team treat us to soaring architectural edifices which speak to new Australian design.

10-12 hours watched:  You’ve drawn up the blueprints for a renovation.

No matter what your choice of real estate TV binge, C&G are certain that a few hours with any of these property faves will have you thinking big about your own home, Bayside. And should inspiration strike to sell your home and move into something altogether different (or even to join the C&G team!), don’t hesitate to get in touch.
