Local Community

Ah Bayside Melbourne! With the beach at your toes and parks scattered across the community, it is a nature lover’s dream - and a wonderland for your dog, too! In today’s blog, you can read all about C&G’s favourite spots to take your pooch for a walk when the sun’s out Bayside. Don’t have a dog? Just take a pal instead!

Brighton Dog Beach (Sandown Street Beach)

If your puppy likes a bit of beach and ocean action, then the Brighton Dog Beach is the place for you. It features a sectioned-off gated beach zone, so you won’t be worried if your energetic pooch wants to run off the lead - they can’t go far! Hot tip – don’t forget to bring a towel in the car.

Bayside Coastal Trail

You can really take in all that Bayside Melbourne has to offer on the Bayside Coastal Trail. It runs all the way from Beaumaris to Brighton and stretches approximately 17 kilometres. If you’ve got a dog with never-ending energy, this one is for you! Walk half, or walk it all. You could even stop off at one of our favourite brunch places and call it a morning.

Battle of Trafalgar Walk, Sandringham

Conveniently located at Sandringham Railway Station, simply hop off the train and begin this moderate 3.7km walk after work. Take a lesson in history as you traverse the various streets, named after soldiers in the 1805 battle in southern Spain. For more information and a detailed map of the walk, click this link.

Castlefield Walk, Hampton

Grab the lead, hop in the car and round up your dog. Drive to Hampton Community Centre where you can park for free, and begin the Castlefield Walk which will take you and your furry friend roughly 1 hour, travelling 4 kilometres in total. You start and finish right near the beach, so take in the bay views before or after your walk down at Hampton foreshore.

Bayside Architectural Trail, Brighton Church Street

Bayside boasts many amazing properties - so while your dog is lapping up the fresh air and out-of-house freedom – you can enjoy the sights of Brighton’s beautiful architecture on this lovely walk. Here are a list of houses and buildings to check out whilst hitting the pavement.
