C&G’s Guide to the Royal Melbourne Show 2017

Local Community

It’s that time of year again! As we bid farewell to winter and welcome spring, the Melbourne Showgrounds begin gearing up for visitors to arrive en masse. From September 23 - October 3, the Royal Melbourne Show returns. In today’s blog, C&G have highlighted the best bits of the Show 2017 ensure you make the most of your visit.

Animals

It wouldn’t be the Melbourne Show if you didn’t get up close and personal with some local animal friends. From dairy cows to alpacas, there’s sure to be an animal your little one will love to meet.

Showbags

The main attraction of the Show for many are the showbags. If you’ve been waiting all year to get your hands on a bag of Bertie Beetles and some glossy magazines, you’re in luck. With the Melbourne Show’s showbag array becoming more elaborate by the year, there’s plenty to be excited about. Check out the top picks here.

Masterchef

Masterchef fans, this is your moment! The Channel Ten studio where the tense cooking competition is filmed will be open for visitors throughout the Show. Enjoy cooking demonstrations from your favourite judges and contestants, and have a peek around the famous Masterchef kitchen itself.

Music and Entertainment

Across each day and evening of the Melbourne show, there’s plenty of live music to get you moving in addition to impressive stunt shows, performances and tricks. National sweetheart Jessica Mauboy will be performing live, and you’ll even get the chance to meet her and grab an autograph! For the kids, Hi-5 will be on stage performing their sing-a-long hits.

Dining

Famous for its vast range of tasty food outlets, this year’s Melbourne Show foodie offering will be bigger than ever. The Winning Taste’s Pavilion, the Woolworth’s Fresh Pavilion and an impressive array of pop-up restaurants, cocktail bars and food trucks means you’ll never be short of a treat.
