Dine With Champions This October

Local Community

Dine With Champions is a special event coming to St Kilda on October 20. Presented by The Sacred Heart Mission in collaboration with Mission Possible, Dine With Champions is a whole evening of enjoyment focused on raising money for the Kick Start Wellbeing and Activities Program. Join with some of Australia’s top sporting legends including host (former AFL footballer and respected sports journalist) Michael Roberts in raising funds to help disadvantaged members of our community get back into sport and improve their health. As a proud sponsor, C&G are here to bring you inside information on what will make this a night to remember.

The Cause

Dine With Champions aims to raise $84,000 for Sacred Heart Mission’s Kick Start Wellbeing and Activities Program. For many years, the Mission have delivered sports and recreation opportunities for those in need, but have identified a real need to enhance the scope of the program to assist more people. For example, did you know that seventy percent of the Mission’s clients are aged between 40 and 70? Many homeless people haven’t engaged in serious exercise in 35 years – so developing a program that suits their needs, complete with support, guidance and a range of gentler exercises like yoga and tai chi can really help them build on their strengths and gain the confidence and/or fitness levels needed to pursue sport, and of course – good health.

The Venue

Participants will enjoy a delicious dinner at Encore, a stunning venue on the waterfront at St Kilda Sea Baths. Think fine food, wine and beach vibes in a classy setting with breakout areas directly onto the foreshore. Beautiful views of Port Phillip Bay, the St Kilda Marina and St Kilda Pier are the icing on the cake!

The Entertainment

Michael Roberts will be welcoming sporting greats including Olympic medallists, Sports Hall of Famers and AFL stars, chatting to them about their triumphs and tribulations. After dinner, there will be a silent auction and raffle, giving guests the opportunity to add rare sporting memorabilia to their collections and secure and once-in-a-lifetime sporting and leisure experiences.
