Dine With Heart this May with Chisholm & Gamon and the Sacred Heart Mission

Local Community

Throughout May, St Kilda’s Sacred Heart Mission hosts Dine With Heart Month, to help support the city’s homeless population. C&G proudly sponsors the Mission, and has done so for many years. Here’s how you can get involved in May’s Dine With Heart goings-on.

Dine With Heart Month has begun, and this year is set to be bigger than ever! With Captain Baxter and St Kilda Venues getting a head start with their Sunday Sesh - which raised $8000 for the mission last Sunday - that’s enough to feed over 2000 people at the Sacred Heart Mission.

Other participating Dine With Heart venues in 2017 include South Melbourne’s St Ali, Collingwood’s The Craft & Co. and St Kilda favourites Captain Baxter and Roxborough – plus plenty more. Events, eats and initiatives will vary between venues, but all will be for the same great cause. St Ali’s Salvatore Malatesta is throwing a Cirque d’Ali in aid of the mission, which is set to be a sensory experience like no other. “The work that the Mission does in the community is truly fantastic. It makes putting on this event a no-brainer for us” said Salvatore, whose event will feature circus performers, magic, lively music and carnival food.

From donations of coffee sales to one-off events, there’s so much Dine With Heart good going on this month that team C&G encourage everyone to host their May social events at a venue or event that benefits the cause. Some notable collaborators include:

●        On Monday 8 May, Roxborough hosts a 3-course tastebud-tantalising menu, heroing the autumnal mushroom. Delicately included in each course, indulge in this celebration of everything mushroom and truffle, with all proceeds going to the Sacred Heart Mission.

●        Ascot Vale’s Fork and Fingers will create a special menu for the week of 8-18 May, with $4 from every meal going straight to Sacred Heart Mission, alongside 10% of all sales from Sunday 14 May.

●        Learn to make the perfect gnocchi with the pasta king, Daniel Tonin, as he takes to the Sacred Heart Mission hall to host a gnocchi-making night with wine and antipasti on Thursday 11 May.

●        Danny returns on Saturday 13 April at St Columba’s Hall in Elwood, to offer a taste of Italy, with all proceeds going direct to Sacred Heart Mission. Enjoy more gnocchi, wine and Italian flavours.
