Dine With Heart this May with Chisholm & Gamon and the Sacred Heart Mission

Throughout May, St Kilda’s Sacred Heart Mission will host Dine With Heart Month to assist the city’s homeless community. C&G are proud supporters of the Mission, and today we’re sharing our top ways that you can get involved with Dine With Heart Month and give a little back. 

Dine With Heart Month encourages Melbournians to enjoy delicious cuisines and participate in fundraising incentives to raise money to support the homeless. Originating two years ago, the incentive has grown from a small charity event to a city-wide mission for change, with more restaurants and cafés taking part in 2017 than ever before.

It costs the Mission $4 to serve one homeless person with a hearty, healthy three-course meal. Last year, DWH month was able to feed 28,750 people, and this year we hope to help smash that and feed even more people! 

Speaking of the growing success of the Mission, Chairman Adam Cropley said, “In 2015 we started by contacting a few local restaurants to see if they would like to be part of our fundraising efforts and were overwhelmed with the generosity of many St Kilda eateries, from small coffee shops to the likes of Donovans.” 

This year’s participants include South Melbourne’s St Ali, Collingwood’s The Craft & Co. and St Kilda favourites Captain Baxter and Roxborough – plus plenty more. Events, eats and initiatives will vary between venues, but will all be for the same great cause. 

Dine With Heart Dinner

At the end of the month on May 30, the Sacred Heart Mission will host a closing gala event at St Kilda’s Palais Theatre where our very own Torsten Kasper & Sam Gamon will be conducting another charity Auction. Catered by an ensemble of some of Melbourne’s finest and best-loved chefs including Tonka’s Adam D’sylva and Cutler and Co’s Chris Watson, it’s an exclusive opportunity to be part of a small audience of 200 guests. Book onto tables of ten while you still can – this anticipated event will sell out fast!
