The annual
Melbourne Spring Fashion Week kicks off on the 28th of August and runs until 4th September. With city-wide events from your favorite designer and high street brands, there’s something for every fashionista to enjoy. Featuring an extensive program this year, C&G have chosen an array of MSFW highlights to fill your calendar.

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is the dawn of the summer season. We ceremoniously say our not-so-fond farewells to our fluffy coats and rain jackets, and gaze upon the coming months in awe of what’s to come.

This year’s MSFW starts with a bang at the Opening Gala on September 1st at Melbourne Town Hall. Presenting spring/summer ready to wear collections from leading Australian designers, preceded by celebratory drinks at the Town Hall Bar, this is one not to be missed.

If you thought MSFW was just for women, think again. The MSFW spotlight shines brightly on crisp suits and sharp, sophisticated menswear at the Mr runway on September 3rd. Neighbouring designer runways include Contemporary, Spring Carnival, Modern Love and Resort.

Emerging designers from the country’s top fashion institutions are given their time to shine in the Emerging series. Their creative flare and daring designs allow a glimpse into the stars of tomorrow. Emerging 1 and Emerging 2 are being held on 30th August.

If the high street is more your bag, there’s plenty of free events for the modern fashion lover in the HUB series. Ted Baker’s runway is set to be captivating following their ‘Everything Is Not What It Seems’ marketing campaign, while Forever New and Oncewas invite you to celebrate their new season collections. High street also celebrates men’s style in their Mr runway, and Jack London launches the 15/16 SS range featuring pop art colours and a tribute to the 80s.

Aside from enticing runways, MSFW holds a variety of workshops and style tutorials. Colgate Optic White’s Race Day Ready shows you how to perfect your race day smile, and have your photo printed with your pals, while the Curated series features a Customised Tank Top workshop, where you’ll learn the skills of screen printing and creative personalisation, and a Fashion Photography Masterclass.

Marking the end of MSFW, the Allivial Restaurant at Melbourne’s InterContinental hotel is hosting a Hats and High Tea event. Enjoy a glass of sparking wine and a fashion show, while indulging in a five star afternoon tea.

With something for everyone, MSFW offers the perfect girls night out or couples date night. Toss your wintry gear into the back of the wardrobe and toast to spring. Cheers, from all at C&G!
