Nombrag: C&G on the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival

Local Community

With a foodie culture as rich as Melbourne’s own, it’s no surprise that the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival is a highlight for many local gourmands. Now in its 22nd year, the festival will bring food and wine lovers together to celebrate, taste and teach their way through over 200 events from February 27- March 15. With some events already sold out, today C&G serve up five events too delicious to miss.

Proving just how lucky we are when it comes to great places to eat and drink, Baysiders won’t even have to leave the neighbourhood to get a taste of the festival action. St Kilda favourite Milk The Cow will be celebrating all things French with a guided tasting of artisan cheeses and wine from the fromagerie’s expert cheesemongers and sommeliers. As well as a delicious French 75 cocktail on arrival, you’ll finish the night with a delicious light farmer-style supper.

If you feel like treating others then consider making a donation to HEATS Homeless Lunch at Luna Park, an organization which provides a place at the table for folks who are doing it tough. HEAT students, alumni and patron Guy Grossi will host a three-course fine dining experience for over 200 people who have experienced homelessness, as well as providing disadvantaged youth with opportunities to re-engage in employment and education.

Venture into the CBD and you’ll discover even more great events. For the ultimate indulgence, look no further than an unusual dining experience at Eau De Vie – but be prepared to Expect The Unexpected! In a show of culinary theatre, enjoy left-of-centre cocktails mixed at the table matched with five equally surprising courses.

Think you’re the ultimate foodie? Prove it. Get your friends together for the ultimate foodie challenge at Campari House’s Race to the Rooftop, where you’ll have to taste, shake and battle your way to the top (literally!). Don’t despair though – everyone’s winner having learnt a few tricks of the trade and tasted delicious new flavours.

Of course it wouldn’t be a Melbourne food event without some sort of Ultimate Street Food Battle. Gazi’s Asian versus European-inspired street food battle will see a select handful of Melbourne’s best-known restaurants fight for the title of Best Street Food in Town. The heat is on!
