The National Gallery of Victoria is kicking off its winter season with
Masterpieces from the Hermitage: The Legacy of Catherine the Great. This exciting new exhibition showcases some of the world’s greatest Dutch and Flemish artists including Rembrandt, Rubens, Velazquez and Van Dyck. The works featured were commissioned by Russian Empress Catherine the Great during her 34 year reign, and the chance to see them in Australia is not be missed - check it out at the NGV from the 31st of July till the 8th of November. Nevsky

Named after the main boulevard of Saint Petersburg - Nevsky Prospekt - this extravagant restaurant in Elsternwick specialises in authentic Russian cuisine thanks to their native chef. Downstairs is a la carte and banquet dining centred around a delightful open fireplace, whilst upstairs specialises in functions offering a choice of set share menus. Nevsky will impress with delicious food and a wide range of vodkas, cocktails, wines and imported beers. 

Third Wave Cafe

With Port Melbourne and Prahran locations, this stylish café is truly east meets west. Its menu features the best of both worlds, serving Russian dishes during the day and American BBQ at night. With everything from candied bacon, blintzes, potato dumplings and beef ribs, there’s something to tickle everyone’s fancy. There’s also the option to make your meals paleo or gluten free.

Discover the wonders of Russian cuisine at Russian Accent Restaurant in Caulfield. Offering eat in or take away, it is a very popular local haunt.
