Santa Claus is coming to Bayside: C&G’s Guide to Christmas Events in Bayside

Local Community

It might only be November, but Bayside is ready to kick into Christmas gear. If you’ve got excited little tots, or you’re just a festive fellow yourself, C&G has all the festivities you need for a great Christmas season.

Santa Rally

For the truly dedicated Christmas lovers, the Santa Rally is your chance to get silly and dress up for a good cause. Grab your family and friends, dress up in your best Christmas outfit and raise vital funds for Sandringham Hospital. There are prizes to be won, too!

Port Melbourne Community Street Festival

Port Melbourne’s very own Christmas wonderland, the annual community street festival on Bay Street will be held on December 1. Kids will enjoy meeting Santa, performances from local talent, a schools competition and plenty of music and festivities, and parents can meet other families from the Bayside community and get ahead on their gift wrapping!

Carols in Dendy Park

Too early for carols you say? Not according to Bayside City Council! On December 12, gather your nearest and dearest at Dendy Park for an evening of caroling, picnic-ing and all-round festive cheer. There’ll be stalls on the night for food and drinks, or you’re welcome to bring your own delights – and of course, there’ll be a very special visit from the man in red.

Santa at Southland

Santa has already landed at Westfield Southland, so waste no time in locking in your photo with the man himself. This year, avoid the queues and book your photo in advance – what a relief! That leaves more time to get ahead with your Christmas shopping. Also available at Southland, Sensitive Santa is a secluded event for children with special needs. Conducted outside of trading hours, more sensitive children are able to meet Santa and have their photo taken without the stresses of busy shopping districts. You can book your child in here

Carols by Kingston

Christmas means one night of caroling is never enough. Head to Sir William Fry Reserve in Highett on December 10 for food trucks, fireworks and festivities in abundance. Santa will be making a special appearance and inviting you into his workshop, while Mum and Dad will enjoy market stalls for a bit of sneaky present-buying. With Australian performers and plenty of fun and games, this is the perfect early Christmas event for everyone. Bring a rug and pitch up a spot on the grass, or book reserved seating via Eventbrite
