Say Hello to Festival Sunday: Highlights of St Kilda Festival

Local Community

Exciting news, ladies and gentlemen – St Kilda Festival is back! As you’ll already know if you made it to the Yalukit Wilum Ngargee event on February 4th, the festival showcases some of the best creative talent around and spans nine epic days of gigs, demos, workshops, rides and more. It all wraps up with ‘Festival Sunday’ on February 12, and admission wont cost you a penny! Read on to discover C&G’s highlights.

The line-up

Two words come to mind when describing this year’s line up for Festival Sunday: ‘Just. Wow!’ Fresh from an epic show at the Australian Open, Daryl Braithwaite will rock the main stage at 5pm, followed by Emma Louise, Drapht and The Aston Shuffle (and preceded by The Smith Street Band and Archie Roach). Other highlights include Triple J Unearthed High winner Gretta Ray, Tiny Little Houses and Bec Sandridge on the O’Donnell Gardens Stage from 11.45am. Don’t miss the Live N Local Stage for some of the southside’s very own musical talent, too – you won’t be disappointed.

Other goodies

If you’ve been to St Kilda Festival in the past, then you’ll already know that there’s activities and entertainment to be found on every corner. From bubble soccer and a Latin Street Carnaval to free 8 Bar Iced Coffees and beach netball on the Foreshore, sport fans will also love the hot competition at the Victorian Beach Volleyball Open. There’ll be plenty of food trucks on site, too, and a whole KidZone at Catani Gardens for the little ones.

If you’re a resident

If you’re a St Kilda local, it’s important to be aware of the event information for locals affected by the festival. While the City of Port Phillip works hard to reduce disruption to residents, there will be over 400,000 attendees in the area, so it’s advised that those located within the festival precinct familiarise themselves with road closures and obtain a special Residents Access Pass if needed. The good news is that extra trams will be running to and from the city, so public transport will be a breeze!

With a deep roots in the St Kilda community, Chisholm & Gamon Property are one of Bayside’s most reputable real estate agencies. If you’re looking to lease, buy or sell within St Kilda or surrounds, you’re in excellent hands with C&G.
