Seven Chefs, One Heart: Dining For The Sacred Heart Mission

As many of our avid C&G blog readers know, Chisholm & Gamon have a long association with St Kilda’s Sacred Heart Mission of which we are very proud. In the past, we’ve assisted the Sacred Heart Mission at their wonderful ‘Heart of St Kilda’ concert series, and ‘Light Up A Life’ cocktail party fundraisers. We invite you to join us this week at Dining With Heart, where seven of Australia’s most famous chefs give the Sacred Heart Mission’s menu a reinterpretation. 


Lead by Ian Curley (famous for his work at Melbourne culinary institution The European), Dining With Heart is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see seven of Australia’s ‘biggest hearted’ chefs work their magic to create an exquisite three-course meal from the basic, hearty ingredients used in the Sacred Heart’s dining hall every day.

Curley, also Australian Ambassador for Jamie’s Ministry of Food, says “We are all looking forward to this unique challenge and to be able to help with the amazing work the Mission does. I think those who come along will be surprised at how you can take simple ingredients and create something spectacular.” He is joined by Chefs including Andrew McConnell (Cutler & Co and Supernormal), Chris Watson (Luxembourg), Daniel Wilson (Huxtaburger), Jesse Gerner (Bomba and Anada), Derek Boath (Bayleaf Catering) and Adam D’Sylva (Tonka and Coda) – coming together to raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission’s Meals Program which feeds up to 400 homeless people, 365 days a year. That’s a lot of meals for our community!

Adam D’Sylva of Coda fame will join fellow-chefs in making simple ingredients sublime.

Sacred Heart Mission’s CEO Cathy Humphreys notes “As well as providing nourishment, there is something incredibly nurturing about a hearty hot meal and we see this every day in our Meals Program. We feel so fortunate to have these seven leading chefs using their amazing culinary skills to raise funds for Sacred Heart Mission and raise awareness of our Meals Program.”

Dining With Heart will be taking place this Wednesday 28th May, 7:00 pm at the Palais Theatre, Lower Esplanade in St Kilda. Tickets are $220.00 each, and there are tables of 10 available if you would like to attend as a group. To purchase your tickets, contact [email protected] or call 03 8534 4118.
