The Ride of Your Life: The Inaugural Women’s Ride

Local Community

C&G invites you to support The Women’s Ride: Victoria’s first ever mass riding event for women! Held on Sunday 12th of April, different rides and events will be offered throughout Victoria and the Bayside region to suit a range of skill levels and interests. So get your helmet on, grab your bike, and get riding this Sunday!

About The Women’s Ride

The Women’s Ride is all about celebrating cycling while increasing the participation of women in bike riding. Women of all ages are invited to join in the fun – you can take part in an existing ride or set up your own! This event is open to everyone – women and men, family and friends – and registration is encouraged. All registered riders will receive discounts and gifts from the event’s sponsors!

There are many rides and events on the programme throughout Victoria, and for Bayside locals there is no shortage of options:

How do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? SheSpoke 2015

SheSpoke asks: ‘How do we get more women riding to close the gender gap?’ In order to help answer that question and enable further discussion on the topic, SheSpoke is holding a free champagne breakfast at The Great Provider, St Kilda. There will be keynote speakers and the discussion will be opened by Mayor Amanda Stevens. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and join in on the conversation. Heading to Mornington Peninsula from Brighton (100km) or Chelsea (50km)

For avid cyclists seeking a challenge, why not register for the 100km ride from Brighton to the Mornington Peninsula? This ride is a Ladies Back on Your Bike event specifically for members, so women interested in cycling and joining the ride on Sunday should consider joining this fun, friendly group! Participants meet at Dendy St for an 8am start, whilst those who prefer the 50km ride meet at Chelsea at 9am. From there all cyclists ride together to the Peninsula! St Kilda to Docklands Return

For a lighter (but still challenging) experience, cyclists can join the 19km ride from St Kilda to Docklands and back again! Perfect for beginners, this ride is an excellent way to build up cycling confidence and meet like-minded people. To register for this ride, click here.

Go on then – on yer bike!
