As part of The Age Good Food Month, the Alexandra Gardens has been transformed into an Asian hawker-style market for our collective enjoyment. With over 25 food stalls, entertainment and a selection of bars to sup from - BYO friends and you’ve a tasty night ahead. Running from 5pm every weekday and 4pm on the weekends, take the opportunity to taste a huge selection of food from Melbourne’s most popular restaurants and cafes.
You’ve heard of Longrain, Chin Chin, Izakaya Den, yes? Well, these and more of your favourites will be cooking up a storm and serving you magical culinary delights. Cuisine on offer includes Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Malaysian, Taiwanese, Nepalese and Filipino. Serendipity Ice cream and Gelato Messina will be providing yummy desserts – bring your desert stomach along for the ride, and save some room for later.

We’re fairly excited about The Big Design Market which should be your first port of call after the night noodle market winds down! Filled with brilliant Christmas ideas, The Big Design Market brings you the best of independent Australian and international designers over three days. Held from the 6th-8th December, this family-friendly event will be held at the Royal Exhibition Building. Items on offer include homewares, textiles, stationary, books, lifestyle and kids’ products. With over 200 designers from Australia and around the world showcasing their distinctive and exclusive goods, we recommend you make a weekend out of it!
