Your C&G Guide to the Spring School Holidays - Part 1

Okay, Melbourne. We’ve done it. Winter is over, and the warmer weather is on its way, which means it’s time for another school break – yes, really! Fear not. C&G have rounded up some top activities to keep your youngsters smiling this school holidays.

Part 1 covers September 17-25, and part 2 will cover September 26 - October 3.

Nickelodeon’s Slimefest

Unfortunately, parents, the clue is in the name. Everyone’s fave kids channel, Nickelodeon, will be taking over Margaret Court Arena on September 25 for a slime-filled show hosted by Aussie superstar, Delta Goodrem. The show features performances from top artists and bands like OMI, Havana Brown and G.R.L and an outdoor showground with rides, food trucks and tons of family fun. Grab your tickets before it’s too late.

Barbie Be Anything High Tea

Send the lads off to the footy and enjoy a girly day out at the Langham Melbourne. The high tea event specially designed to empower kids to spread their wings and literally ‘be anything’ will be laden with sweet treats from princess cakes to aeroplane pilot bickies. Kids are encouraged to dress up as anything they like, from movie stars to doctors, while parents can enjoy the luxurious Wedgewood High Tea at the same time. Book in to avoid disappointment.

The Royal Melbourne Show

It’s back for another year, so limber up, Dads! You’re being summoned for the royal duty of showbag carrying. With rides, stalls, animals, sports and foodie delights for all the family, The Royal Melbourne Show is a must-do for the school holiday hitlist.

Kids Go Wild at Melbourne Zoo

Get up close and personal with Melbourne Zoo’s most captivating animals, at Kids Go Wild school holiday programs. Kids will be led by activity hosts on a tour of the zoo, and take part in tons of fun games and activities as they go. Oh, and guess what, Mum and Dad? You’re not required to stay, so this is your chance to get your to-do list checked off while your little ones are enjoying an action packed, educational zoo day!

Other Ways to Fill Your Days

When the big-ticket event days are all locked in, how do you fill those iffy-weather spring afternoons? These handy goings-on will be your secret weapons for when boredom strikes, so pop these in your calendar.

Get creative at the Lego Build-It Holiday Workshops at Mentone Primary School; enjoy indoor soft play at the Spring School Holiday Program at the Silly Seahorse play centre; get your blood pumping at School Holiday Space Jump at Springvale Indoor Sports; or tap into their cultural side at the ACMI school holiday kids events.

If, while the kids are busy, you’re ready to tick ‘speak to C&G’ off of your to-do list, we’ll welcome you to any of our four Bayside offices for a chat.
