No one could have predicted we’d be experiencing a pandemic in 2020! Australians are regularly implementing new self-isolation and social distancing measures recommended by the Government, in a collective effort to combat the spread of COVID-19 and prevent our health services from becoming overwhelmed. This unusual time has proven its impact on businesses and individuals alike, many of which have had to quickly adapt to new regulations. Fortunately, the real estate industry continues to operate and service the many landlords, tenants, vendors and investors that rely on our property management and sales services. In this latest C&G blog, we unpack the ways we are keeping our community safe without compromising on our excellent service values.

Fortunately, our industry is flexible and innovative. We are always introducing new methods of showcasing our clients’ properties to maximise their return on investment. On the 31st of March, REIV announced that they have written to the Victorian Government calling for real estate services to be categorised as essential. The industry’s contribution to the Australian economy and the provision that shelter was an essential need, were amongst the top reasons for the request. This is reassuring news for us!

So how will your property services change? We love seeing our clients, and will continue doing so via digital means. We are thankful to have so many technological tools at our disposal and they have certainly made this transition a smooth one. Our client meetings now take place over Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime and Facebook Messenger. Having all these options means each unique client can use the one they are most familiar with!

Given the restrictions on public gatherings, we have been unable to conduct open home inspections and auctions like we used to. However, the show must go on. Prospective buyers, investors and tenants can enjoy one on one private appointments and should they choose to inspect from a distance we have 3D property floor plans, live video inspections and tours, live online auction bidding and online contract signing. Our team members and clients will also receive training and resources to become familiar with these new processes.
