Tips & Advice

As Winter draws to a close, Spring arrives with its entourage of exciting events. This year Melbourne Fashion Week will be in full swing from 28 August to 5 September, showcasing the best international and local talent of the fashion industry. In this C&G blog, we guide you through our most anticipated events, exhibitions and forums.

Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out

It’s Vogue Australia’s 60th birthday and that only means one thing: a full day shopping festival of exclusive offers, runways and live music performances! Grab your girlfriends, partner or family and head to Melbourne CBD on Thursday 29 August. There will be plenty of offers from over 400 retailers, a Spin-to-Win wheel in Little Bourke Street, and fashion workshop in David Jones! Plus a little extra VIP treatment for those who are American Express card members.

Ethical Clothing Australia on Tour

Ethical consumption and sustainable production begin with the very clothes we wear. ECA national manager Angela Bell leads this tour to showcase the Australian brands paving the path to ethical fashion production. You’ll hear from representatives from brands such as Manning Cartell, Viktoria and Woods, and Arnsdorf. The tour will take place on August 30 and 31 at Emporium Melbourne, with a complimentary beverage and the chance to win a $100 Emporium gift voucher! Click here to book your tickets.

Student Collections Town Hall Runway

One of MFW’s most iconic shows is the Student Collections runway. The runway features the latest cutting-edge designs from Melbourne’s top fashion schools such as RMIT and Whitehouse Institute of Design. You can book your tickets and support our talented emerging creatives here.

Fashion in the Big Apple

Who isn’t fascinated by the iconic fashion history from the city that never sleeps? Designer and historian Yahav Ron of Paris 99 will be presenting a discussion and presentation of New York fashion and its dynamic nature. This intimate event will be held on Tuesday 3 September and will feature authentic garments from notable designers such as Calvin Klein and Oscar de la Renta. You’ll be able to see and touch these unique items in the relaxing atmosphere of Lord Coconut in Melbourne CBD. Purchase your tickets here.
