C&G's Guide to the Good Food and Wine Show

Local Community, Tips & Advice

From 2nd - 4th June, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the Good Food and Wine Show, so round up your friends or family and enjoy an indulgent day of epicurean discovery. Here are C&G’s highlights to help you plan your day.

Good Food Theatre

Hear from some of the world’s best chefs in the Good Food Theatre, including Manu Fidel and Matt Wilkinson. Learn tips and tricks to wow your friends at your next dinner party, or simply soak up the foodie chats and how-to guides.

Pop Up Dining

EAT (the show’s pop-up dining precinct) will be showcasing restaurants from the Citibank dining program, complemented by handpicked wines by McWilliams. Enjoy the luxury of a fancy restaurant while amidst the buzz of this foodie festival. You’re also welcomed to the Good Food Village to explore some of the finest produce unavailable in supermarkets, and try some samples before you buy!

Wine Tastings

Wine Selectors welcome both beginner tasters and wine connoisseurs to explore the flavours of Australian wines at a number of Cellar Door sessions throughout the show. Check out the timetable and book your slot. Riedel Drinks Lab will also be running four free tastings per day, or go VIP with their glass tasting classes, to broaden your understanding of how different wine glasses work with different grapes. For the ultimate wine experience, Vinomofo’s Adventure Park offers an entire universe beyond wine tastings. Think virtual reality vineyard tours, giant swings and the food of the moment – wine scream! That’s wine ice cream, if you didn’t know!

Cheese Galore

What’s wine without cheese? You’ll find wine’s best mate on offer throughout the show in many weird and wonderful ways, including the Smelly Cheese Project. Take part in a sensory experience of pairing the smelliest of cheeses with the richest of wines with the Smelly Cheese Shop’s resident expert. If you want some tasties to take home, stock up at Tucker’s Cheese Alley, where you’ll find every type of cheese you can imagine

Get your Italian On

Love pizza? Dubbed the world’s best pizza maker, 400 Gradi’s Johnny Di Francesco will be running masterclasses to share his knowledge with everyone at the show. Learn to make the perfect dough and topping combos, and best of all, chow down on your creations once you’re done. If you don’t fancy getting hands on, no problem – pizza slices, nutella pizzas, Vittoria Coffee and Zero Gradi ice cream will be on sale throughout the event, too.

Entry to the Good Food and Wine Show 2017 is ticketed, with many events included in the ticket price. Some events incur an additional cost and require bookings in advance. All information is available via the show’s website, and C&G reminds patrons to drink responsibly and adhere to age restrictions on certain events.
