A Christmas Adventure – Melbourne’s Christmas Events in the City

Local Community

School’s almost out and Christmas is a week away – it’s time to start indulging in all the festivities that Melbourne spoils us with.
C&G have checked out what’s going on and rounded up some of our favourite city adventures.

Gingerbread Village at Melbourne Town Hall

For the fifth year running, Epicure’s Gingerbread Village continues to wow visitors and warm our festive hearts. This year’s adorable gingerbread creation of the Formula One Grand Prix is open until Christmas Eve and definitely worth a visit!

Santa In The City

Santa has taken up his usual pitch at Christmas Square and is ready and waiting to here your little ones’ wish lists. Meet Santa, post your letters to the North Pole and have a memorable photo keepsake with the man himself.

Lego at Federation Square

The giant Lego Christmas tree sits magnificently at Fed Square this year, and visitors can admire the creation in all it’s glory, before heading into the Atrium Fracture Gallery to build your own Lego Christmas decoration to take home.

Skating at O’Brien Group Arena

Whether you’re the next Torvill and Dean or you’ve never set foot on the ice before, Christmas skate sessions at the O’Brien Group Olympic sized ice rinks are great fun for children and adults alike. Get a taste of a real winter Christmas, pop on your gloves and bobble hat and try your hand at skating. You can even have a free intro lesson if you’re a little nervous!

Light Projections at Melbourne Town Hall

See Melbourne Town Hall come alight with festive cheer as the light projections are cast upon the front of the hall. Light and sound paint a picture of happiness and seasonal greetings, and run right up until Christmas Day.

These festive activities are a great way to kick off your summer break, and we’d love to see what you’ve been up to. Snap us your photos on Twitter @ChisholmGamonRE!
