C&G Embrace Their Fete

Local Community

C-Day (better known in some circles as Christmas Day) is only a month away – and as time runs out to purchase your gifts, the lure of large shopping centres is almost irresistible. But wait! Why not go ultra-local and support both your local community and local artisans by shopping up a storm at a choice of fetes right here, bayside? Christmas and school fetes have come a long way since boxes of second-hand magazines and tooth-breaking toffees were the only treats on offer: now you’ll be able to shop gourmet treats, beautifully made handicrafts and more – all while directly contributing to your local economy. C&G encourage you to embrace your fete!

Start your local shopping adventure at this sophisti-fete, held by St Kilda’s popular arts and culture tome Dumbo Feather. Held on the 7th of December at the beautiful ‘White House’ at 11 Princes Street, St Kilda – have your gold-coin donation entry ready and get ready to browse goodies from Katie Marx florist, Kip & Co bespoke linens and delicious AllPress coffee and snacks delivered straight from a gleaming airstream caravan.

Kip & Co linens in a fine C&G orange palette!

Popular every year, make your way to the Bayside Playhouse & Occasional Care Centre this Sunday 23rd of November for their Christmas Market. Choose from a variety of quality craft specialities including Christmas décor, children’s clothing, jewellery, baby and toddler gifts and Christmas cakes. We recommend nabbing a few mince pies while you’re there – at 3 Beaumont Street in Sandringham from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Allez-vous to the Alliance Francaise on the 6th and 7th of December to enjoy a French Christmas Market and Open Day! Located at 51 Grey Street in St Kilda, there’s plenty of imported French products to select your perfect gift from (imagine the ooh la la’s on Christmas  Day) in addition to a chic atmosphere – think laidback grooves and delicious foods to enjoy on your visit – plus activities for the kids.

As we draw closer to Christmas, we’ll be featuring the various carols events and community celebrations – stay tuned to the C&G blog for all things Christmas and community by the bay.
