C&G’s Guide to Celebrating Easter

Local Community

Get egg-cited, Easter is just around the corner! Normally we would expect a visit from the Easter Bunny, but this year he may be busy self-isolating just like everyone else. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a wonderful long weekend with your family or housemates. In this latest C&G blog we round up some fun activities you can try at home. Hoppy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

There’s nothing more iconic about this holiday than a good ol’ egg hunt – we just need to keep it indoors! You’d be surprised how many hidden corners you can find in your home, and it’s a whole new challenge if you normally host this eggs-travagant event outside. If you’re having trouble finding enough eggs at the supermarket you can also use other colourful objects such as Easter-themed chocolates, stuffed animal toys, lego blocks or balls! You can play this game during the day, or wait until dark and have some fun with flashlights or glowsticks!

Make Easter Treats

It’s a rewarding activity that everyone can get involved in. Hot cross buns, bunny cupcakes, carrot cakes… it’s the sugar rush that will keep the Easter energy high! This website has a delicious recipe for vanilla bunny cupcakes, which you can complement with a sweet strawberry bunny milkshake!

Watch Easter Movies

It’s the perfect eggs-cuse to snuggle up in front of the television with a hot chocolate or some hot cross buns. And there are plenty of family favourite films to set the Easter mood! We recommend Peter Rabbit, Hop, Rise of the Guardians or the Prince of Egypt.

Catch Up With Everyone

Even if it needs to be virtually. There are plenty of great apps which have sprung up amidst this unusual time of social distancing and self-isolation. Zoom, HouseParty, Skype, Facetime… they will all do the trick if you would like to catch up with extended family members and friends! This is the perfect opportunity to check in with people you haven’t interacted with recently, especially if their household is a bit smaller than yours. Furry four-legged housemates are always a crowd favourite when it comes to video chat!
