C&G’s Guide to International Women’s Day 2021

Local Community

Live Love Work Port Phillip will be hosting its annual International Women’s Day breakfast on Friday the 5th of March. This special event invites all professionals in the Port Phillip area to gather and celebrate the women who have contributed to the region’s diverse culture and growth. C&G have always been proud sponsors of this event, and our latest blog unpacks the main highlights. Have a read – we hope to see you there!

This year, the event will be held at the Prince Hotel in St Kilda, from 7:00am to 9:30am. This initiative was founded by 3 local businesswomen: Georgie Stayches, Vesna Grdjan and Alison McDowell. They are all successful entrepreneurs, therefore are naturally passionate about fostering community and connection in Port Phillip. Apart from celebrating women, Live Love Work also celebrates the region’s eclectic personality and diversity.

Rita Arrigo, an Industry Digital Strategist at Microsoft and St Kilda local, will be this year’s speaker. She is passionate about exploring the possibilities of technology and how Artificial Intelligence can contribute to human culture. She has recently received the PauseFest Super Connector Award for her work in driving technological projects within the community. Learn more about Rita here!

Ready Set, a South Melbourne-based organisation focused on assisting Victorians with barriers to employment, will be the 2021 charity partner. Founded in 2011, they help coach and connect jobseekers who may be impacted by social isolation, financial hardship and mental health issues. $5 from each ticket purchase will go directly to Ready Set and the people they support.

This is an excellent event for networking with likeminded professionals, as well as celebrate our wonderful community. Tickets will cost $88, include a two-course sit down breakfast, and can be booked here. Alternatively you can also ‘Zoom to the Room,’ and listen to the inspiring stories from the comfort of your couch.
