C&G’s Guide to Mindful in May 2017

Local Community

Mindful in May encourages Australians to pause and take time to reflect. Let’s face it - we could all be more mindful in our day-to-day lives! C&G invites you to join us as we take a more mindful approach to the month of May and beyond. Here’s how you can get involved:

What is Mindful in May?

Mindful in May is an online training program, where every participant is guided through a month’s worth of mindfulness coaching. Whilst you needed to commence the program prior to May 1 to join the ‘live group’, you can sign up for the Mindful Month program at any time. You’ll get access to audio and video guided meditations from world-class educators, enabling you to improve your mental focus and clarity. Signing up during Mindful in May saves you a nifty 80% off the normal cost of the program - so if you’ve been meaning to focus on your wellbeing, now is the time. The concept behind Mindful in May is to make a difference to your own life - as well as someone else’s - by making donations and requesting sponsorship from your network for your mindfulness challenge. The funds raised by Mindful in May help bring clean drinking water to communities in need. Did you know that it only costs $50 to safe drinking water to one person for life?

How to Get Mindful

If signing up for Mindful in May isn’t for you, you can still make it your mission to take a more mindful approach to life starting now. You can attend mindfulness classes at studios like Humming Puppy, Happy Melon, Melbourne Meditation Centre and Always Meditation, or use apps on your smartphone or tablet. Happify, Headspace, Insight Timer and Aura are popular choices, and many have enjoyed positive results.

Benefits of Mindfulness

It’s easy to ignore the notion of mindfulness as merely a buzzword of 2017. Don’t be too quick to write off mindfulness and meditation, as a daily practice of calm connection – especially combined with a Bayside lifestyle – is a terrific combination! Improved mental function and a reduction in fatigue can see you become more productive at work, while reduced anxiety and stress will have you enjoying more meaningful experiences and making better connections.
