C&G’s Guide to The Best Cool-Off Spots in Bayside and Beyond

Local Community

Summer is finally showing itself here in Melbourne, and while we’re delighted to have packed away our coats and scarves, some days call for a serious cool-down. In today’s blog, C&G has rounded up some of our favourite Bayside spots to dial down the temperature.

Prahran Aquatic Centre

A southside favourite, Prahran Aquatic Centre is a great spot to take a dip, or get serious with laps this summer. Saturdays play host to a giant inflatable on the water – great for the back-end of the school holidays - while Sundays are all about chilled vibes and summer tunes, with a resident DJ spinning from 1pm-6pm.

Bayside’s Beaches

If chlorine swims aren’t for you, Bayside is blessed with some of the best beaches in Victoria. Pair your cool-down dip with a refreshing Republica Frozé at St Kilda Beach, or go family and pup friendly at Brighton Beach. Check with local authorities for the latest closures, as shark sightings have flagged some swimming bans at Elwood and St Kilda of late.

The Baths

The best of both worlds, Melbourne’s iconic sea baths give you that salt water cleanse without the crashing waves. Cool off and relax at St Kilda Sea Baths and the Brighton Baths Health Club, where you can enjoy hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms and saunas to soothe your aching January muscles. Perfect to get yourself in the right frame of mind to hit the ground running at work.

Splashland

New to Victoria, Splashland is the pop-up waterpark that’ll get more than just the kids excited. Heading to Caulfield Racecourse on January 11 after a successful stint in Mornington, kids and adults can enjoy inflatable waterslide fun for two weeks.

Adelphi Pool Party

This might be in the CBD, but it’s got Bayside vibes written all over it. The Pimms Pop-Up Pool Sessions on selected weekend afternoons in January and February give you access to the stunning glass-bottomed rooftop pool overlooking Flinders Lane, and you can enjoy summer Pimms in your bathers while you’re at it. See, January isn’t so bad after all.

The Langham

Another city favourite, the Langham Hotel in Southbank welcomes day guests to its wellness centre all year round. The pool and spa bath open out onto the balcony overlooking the Yarra, where you can enjoy bubbles and snacks while basking in the summer rays. It’s the luxury cool-off spot you’ve been looking for.

Phew! We might be cooling off, but Melbourne’s property market certainly isn’t! Whether you’re buying, selling or leasing, Chisholm & Gamon’s friendly team of property experts are ready and waiting to help you execute your real estate goals in 2017.
