Local Community

Rug up, Melbourne. Winter is here! To keep your spirits warm, C&G has rounded up the best winter markets to visit during the chilly months. From gifts and homewares to fresh, local produce for hearty winter meals, there’s plenty to enjoy.

Queen Victoria Winter Night Market

The holy grail of winter, the Queen Victoria Night Market has returned. Packed with diet-busting tasty street food, live music and all the winter good vibes by roaring fires, it’s the only midweek event worth battling the chill for. Held every Wednesday until August 30.

Mount Eliza Farmers’ Market

Held on the fourth Sunday of every month, the Mount Eliza Farmers’ Market is the number one place to get fresh produce to pack into your warming winter dishes. Think slow cooker veggies, organic meats and flavourful herbs and spices – your kitchen will be a hub of winter warmers the family will love.

Beaumaris Farmers’ Market

The Beaumaris Farmers’ Market is held on the second Saturday of every month – the perfect chance to replenish your fresh food stocks between Mount Eliza’s markets! Hosted by Beaumaris North Primary School, the vast market offers a selection of hot and cold foods and organic produce from local sellers. With children welcome to get acquainted with animals at the petting zoo and dogs permitted on leashes, it’s everything you need for a family Saturday morning out.

Esplanade Market, St Kilda

A regular fixture in the St Kilda calendar, the Esplanade Market is open every Sunday, all year round. Lining the St Kilda Esplanade with craft, fashion, home, gift and foodie stalls, it’s the perfect pre or post-brunch browse.

St Kilda’s Winter Night Garden @ Map 57

From June 15, St Kilda will host the inaugural Map 57 festival. While not a market exactly, there’ll be tons of food stalls and knick-knacks to peruse while you enjoy live performances, ice skating and family friendly winter activities in the buzzing surrounds of St Kilda Triangle.
