Get Your Fill for the End of Good Food Month!

Sadly, the month long Australia-wide foody celebration is coming to a close. It’s been a great month of twilight noodles, ice cream parties and general gastronomical goodness, and the closing weekend is no different. C&G have rounded up some of the final events of the festival – and tons of them are in Bayside! 

1. Sweetfest

Okay, so this one isn’t in Bayside, but it’s by far the biggest finale of all. Located at North Melbourne’s Meat Market, this two day extravaganza of all things sugar is one for the sweet toothed Melbournian. Celebrating all things whipped, iced, fried and sweetened in any way possible, favourites like N2 Gelato, Redbank and Black Star Pastry will be exhibiting their finest treats. Get stuck into a how-to class or simply sit back and stuff your face while sipping on a boozy spider bevvy, you’ll need a darkened room and day off to recover by the end of it! 

2. Huxtaburger at Alumbra, Docklands

American street food maestro Huxtaburger takes over Docklands fave Alumbra. Master of the cheap eats category, you can get your paws on a $10 chillidog washed down with a $15 American Beauty.  We’re thankful for that!

3. Sri Lankan Brunch at Araliya St Kilda

Brunch like you’ve never seen it before. Shun your Sunday eggs benedict in favour of this Sri Lankan feast. Think Kottu Roti, Buffalo Curd, Poached Egg Hoppers and Kithul Treacle.

4. Sip a Chinese Firecracker at Ba Charlie, Prahran

It’s your last chance to get your lips around Ba Charlie’s signature Good Food Month cocktail, Chinese Firecracker. Tanqueray gin, Grand Marnier, Campari wth raspberry and chilli syrup, tempered chocolate and popping candy, served with milk chocolate dumplings and raspberry and chilli sorbet. That’s one to remember! 

5. Visit the Last Night Noodle Markets, Birrarung Marr

Birrarung Marr has been alight with noodlin’ fun for the past two weeks, and this weekend we must say goodbye. If you’ve been stuck for choice, or haven’t been yet, this weekend is the time to get you final fill of twilight food truckin’ treats – it’s all over for another year after Sunday!
