Visions of Dreamland

Cost: Free

Date: 14th May – 27th May

Visions of Dreamland is a collaborative exhibition that offers a window into the world beyond consciousness. Rooms are decorated with art, furniture and objects from artists’ personal ‘dreamlands’, showcasing the strange but often beautiful world of dreams. To find out more about the event, click here.

Robot – With David Johnson @ Creative Mornings

Cost: Free

Date: 15th May; 8am – 9.30am

If you’re a freelancer, entrepreneur or all-round creative type and you haven’t heard of Creative Mornings, then Design Week is the perfect chance to get acquainted! Creative Mornings provides free breakfast lectures for the creative community. It started in New York in 2008 and a Melbourne chapter opened in 2012. A new theme for discussion is picked each month and this month’s theme is ‘Robot’. So come and join David Johnson, Creative Technologist, as he presents on the theme this Friday. Cosmic Affair

For jewellery design lovers, you can’t go past the Cosmic Affair exhibition. The collection by Melbourne designer Nadine Treister showcases exquisite and unique contemporary jewellery that is out of this world: which is quite fitting since the collection is inspired by space-travel and the universe. Brunch at Bakehouse – Food, Music, Art and Design

Cost: $40

Date: 16th May; 10am – 12pm

Over the past year designers, artists and musicians have gathered to create installations together in the Bakehouse Studios music rooms. Each room is a testament to individuality and the curatorial eye of owner Helen Marcou. Now you have the chance to experience the design spaces and meet the creatives behind them with Brunch at Bakehouse.
