Summer Is Coming! – C&G’s Top Music Festivals for the Holiday Season

Local Community

It’s summer in Melbourne, which means it’s time to ROCK OUT! C&G have put together a list of some of the most exciting local music festivals for Melbournians to get down to this season.

1. Falls Festival
Just a short drive south of Melbourne’s bayside suburbs, Falls Festival is one of the highlights of the summer season for many, and a lovely way to ring in the New Year.

2. So Frenchy So Chic

For all the Francophiles out there, this is a day of Parisian heaven!  With an array of delicious food and family-friendly activities, So Frenchy So Chic is not an event to be missed. Featuring music from Lou Doillon and Brigitte, make free your calendars (and your stomachs) on January 10th. Don’t forget to pre-order your cheese baskets!

3. Sugar Mountain

Since spreading its wings and moving to an open-spaced location last year, Sugar Mountain has been climbing from strength to strength. With a huge emphasis on natural environment – the festival itself takes place throughout Melbourne’s CBD – the much-loved event serves as a melting pot of some of Australia’s best musicians, artists, and chefs, as well as some impressive international acts.  This year’s line-up features Hot Chip and Roland Tings, as well as local darlings Courtney Barnett and Royal Headache. Taking place, on 23rd January, be sure to get your tickets soon!

4. Anglesea Music Festival

This beachside festival is all about appreciating brilliant live music in a safe, beautiful setting where the bush meets the sea. Now in its fifth year, this family friendly day at the water has always been a favourite for locals, as well as city folk looking to get out of town for a day or two. This year’s line-up features Dale Ryder and Taxi Ride, as well as Jason Singh.

So there you have it! If you’re looking to get into the sunshine, and receive your musical fix this summer, be sure to snap up some tickets to these great local festivals fast! Heading to any of these events? Tweet us your pictures @ChisholmGamonRE!
