Local Community

Between the city and the surf lies the unassuming, much-coveted suburb of Port Melbourne. The subject of today’s blog, we focus on this charming locale and how to enjoy it at its finest this summer. Join C&G as we walk you through the best of Port Melbourne.

Port Melbourne Beach

Port Melbourne’s refined architectural aesthetic is complemented by its beachy culture, white sands and picturesque bay views. The summer months call for morning walks, ocean swims and picnics on the sand, ideal for family days out. Don’t forget to pick up some pastries from the famous Noisette bakery, or some fresh summer salads from Fox’s Den before making your way to the ocean – they’re two Port Melbourne treasures worth making your locals!

Gasworks Farmers Market

Falling on the third Saturday of each month, Gasworks Farmers Market is a Port Melbournian’s fresh produce dream. With rich seasonal colours and an unrivalled depth of flavour, these fresh foods come straight from farmer to consumer. Supplement your happy and healthy Bayside lifestyle with fruits, veggies and homemade baked treats.

Albert Park

Albert Park’s acres of lush greenery are a go-to spot for nearby Port Melbourne residents. Enjoy afternoons spent in the parklands, gathering friends and family around the public BBQs and watching the Melbourne sun hit the lake’s glittering waters. Keen to get active? Grab your clubs and enjoy a round of 9 or 18 holes at one of Victoria’s best golf courses, or enjoy a jog around the 5km track that follows the line of the lake. You’re never short of a great view. Come March, Albert Park hosts the Formula One Grand Prix. Get in on the action and enjoy living in such close proximity to a world class sporting event.

Get Fit at MSAC

MSAC’s 50m outdoor pool welcomes swimmers to cool off and tone up with some Olympic laps. Kids will enjoy the Flow Rider wave simulator, while adults can soak up the sun on the poolside sunloungers, and stay refreshed at the poolside cafe.

Do Pilates

Port Melbourne is home to some of the city’s best yoga and pilates studios. Bodhi and Ride is your go-to for zen yoga and meditation or a sweaty spin sesh, while KX Pilates promises to define your abs and get you beach ready.

Indulge on Bay Street

Home to some of Melbourne’s finest bars and restaurants and drenched in summer sunshine and ocean views, Bay Street is the ideal spot for a spontaneous brunch, cocktail or coffee date. Packed with boutique style shopping and exuding a relaxed, family friendly vibe – and of course, our C&G office – you’ll feel at home here on sunny Saturday mornings.

Station Pier Precinct

Newly revitalised, Port Melbourne’s waterfront precinct - Station Pier - is home to several fresh seafood restaurants and relaxed cafe/bar environments to watch the sunset over the bay.
