Top o’ the Morning! St Patrick’s Day Celebrations Bayside

Local Community

March 17 marks St Patrick’s Day, and Melbourne’s Southside and Bayside suburbs are getting ready to celebrate in (green, Gaelic) style. Whether you fancy live music, a full Irish Breakfast or dancing the night away, Chisholm and Gamon have you covered. Garb yourself in emerald green, grab a pint, and get ready to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Melbourne! To be sure!

Veludo – St Kilda

Thanks to St Kilda’s bustling backpacker culture, this Bayside hotspot boasts more Irish people than any other suburb in Melbourne! Immersing itself in Irish culture this year is local bar Veludo, which is hosting a huge St Patrick’s Day party complete with a new Irish menu, drink specials, giveaways, and music from Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran & The Ratbags.

Elephant & Wheelbarrow – St Kilda

Come on down to the Elephant & Wheelbarrow in St Kilda for a full day of Irish celebration! Big Irish breakfasts (complete with Guinness, of course!) will be available from 10am, live music will be playing all evening, and there will be Irish memorabilia giveaways all day!

Bridie O’Reilly’s – South Yarra

Where better to soak up the St Patrick’s Day atmosphere than in one of Melbourne’s most charming Irish Pubs? Bridie O’Reilly’s is offering Irish breakfasts from 10am (again with Guinness, of course!) but if you’re hoping to head down for a drink in the evening you might want to get in early – this iconic pub tends to fill up quickly on St Patrick’s Day! And for those in need of recovery the day after, Bridie O’Reilly’s is offering a “recovery day” on Wednesday 18 (complete with hangover food!)

P. J. O’Brien’s – Southbank

P. J. O’Brien’s is proud to be hosting “the biggest, best and most authentic St Patrick’s Day party in Australia!” They will be serving big Irish breakfasts from 8-11am (again with Guinness – or a glass of sparkling wine!) lunch from 12-3pm, and live Irish music, Irish dancers and pipers will be available all day! For those unable to attend the festivities, a pre-St Patrick’s Day celebration is taking place on Sunday 15 March, with Irish dancing lessons, prizes, drink specials and more!
