A Weekend in Elwood With Chisholm & Gamon

Tips & Advice

At C&G, we’re Bayside locals with a passion for Bayside property. In today’s blog, we’re taking you on a journey through a perfect weekend in Elwood with some of our team, from morning coffee to strolls along the bay.

Senior Sales Consultant Trish Mulcahy loves nothing more than a sunrise walk with her spoodle, Toby. “The Elwood foreshore is magic at that time of the morning”, she explains. When Toby has worn himself out good and proper, the pair make for a coffee stop on the way home. Johnny’s Elwood Bodega is a popular choice for your caffeine fix, according to Sales Administrator Corinne Turley!

C&G Director Sam Gamon starts his Sunday with an early morning walk through the beautiful tree-lined streets of Elwood, admiring the period properties and passing by familiar faces of the local community. Once hunger strikes, Sam heads for his go-to order of avo smash and a large latte at one of the local cafés. “There are so many to choose from, we’re spoilt for choice,” Sam says.

Brunch at Plain Sailing is a favourite for many, including Samantha Bonus who joined the C&G team in 2012. “It’s perfect for dog spotting!” she says. With full bellies and happy hearts, Sammie and friends then walk to Point Ormond lookout to take in the city views and get that step count pumping.

For Marketing Coordinator Tracey Emmett, weekend mornings are made for a bike ride along beach road, before a stroll along the foreshore to the dog beach. The Middle Brighton Baths kiosk is always on hand when the need for coffee strikes, too! If you’re up for a ride or a walk further afield, take the 4km route from Elwood Beach along Ormond Esplanade and Barkly Street until you reach The Dispensary. As recommended by Sales Consultant James Bavin, you’ll find “outstanding coffee and brunch!”

Weekends are made for enjoying great food with friends and family. If you’re a keen cook, Samantha Bonus recommends The Leaf Store for stocking up on fresh, organic produce. If you’re dining out, The Joinery is an office week-long favourite. Local tip: head there on Tuesdays and Thursdays for $3.50 tacos!
