C&G’s Guide: Back to School

Tips & Advice

Before we know it, term 1 is almost here! The little ones will undoubtedly be excited to see their classmates again after a year of remote learning and staying home. However, after an unusual 2020, even the most experienced parents may be feeling a little rusty preparing for the first day back at school. In this C&G blog we list some essential tips for ensuring your child enjoys a successful return to the classroom!

Start re-establishing routines.

We’ve all done our best to help our kids adapt through lockdown, however remote learning most likely meant waking up a bit later, spending the day in PJs, and unlimited lunch breaks! For the first time ever, we might start welcoming those pesky alarms and the busy bustle each morning brings!

Start preparing as early as you can, by reintroducing a daily routine and getting your kids used to being dressed and ready in a timely manner. You may also like to start serving school lunches during the day instead of the usual holiday treats.

First time going to school?

If this is your child’s first time attending school, get them excited by talking about the upcoming school year and the joys of a fresh start. This will definitely minimise any anxiety or nervousness your child may be experiencing. The earlier you begin preparing, the more confident they’ll feel when the big day arrives!

Look out for ‘Back to School’ sales!

Although the big day is almost here, you may be able to snap up some last minute sales on your school supplies!
