C&G’s Guide to Online Events in September

Tips & Advice

Wow, what a year! And just like that, it’s September. Whilst lockdown restrictions have kept us at home, most events have perfected the digital platform, delivering those familiar experiences we know and love with a bit of a twist. Enjoy C&G’s latest blog, which rounds up the most exciting online events happening this September!

For a quiet night in

Let’s face it – most nights are pretty quiet! However, it doesn’t mean we’re short on quality entertainment. Time Out has rounded up the most anticipated films and television series coming to popular Australian streaming services this month. From Jordan Peele’s latest horror to the live action remake of Mulan, there’s something for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their couch.

For the foodies

Cheese lovers will rejoice, as Prahran Market’s Say Cheese Festival returns for its 7th year from the 10th to 12th of September. This online event celebrates all things cheese, featuring tasting packs from different countries and free virtual cooking classes! Make sure to check the program and register to avoid missing out!

You can also upgrade your at-home menu with the At-Home Bartender Masterclass Series. Join Australia’s best bartenders in a free online class, as they reveal their secrets to creating the perfect Kyoto Highballs and Moscow Mules. Concrete Playground has all the dates and details here.

For the travel bugs

Unfortunately, recreational travel is still on the backburner, but it doesn’t mean we can’t get a taste of Sydney culture virtually!

If you’ve exhausted your Netflix library and the Melbourne International Film Festival program, check out Sydney Underground Film Festival, screening from the 10th to 20th of September. Known for its surreal and subversive short films, SUFF is taking its program entirely online and streaming nationally. Check out this year’s program here.

Do you prefer music and sightseeing? You’ll love the Trials of Wisdom, a virtual escape room within the Sydney Opera House! Navigate your way through the Opera House’s off-limit backstage rooms, orchestra pit, theatre and costume department to decode the four passwords to escape. This is perfect for those harbouring classical music trivia!
