2024 PPG Property Management Conference Review

The annual PPG Property Management Conference last Wednesday was a resounding success, bringing together our entire property management department for a day of learning, inspiration, and even a little bit of magic, at Leonda by the Yarra.

We were privileged to hear from a lineup of exceptional speakers who shared their insights and expertise:

Emma Murray:

Emma is the founder of High Performance Mindfulness – a practice she has used to guide AFL teams to premierships, motorsport drivers to championships, Australian cricketers to double centuries and Olympic athletes to the podium. Her practice is grounded in the science and art of mindfulness and high performance psychology, and tried and tested in life… and she provided practical strategies to build mental toughness and navigate the challenges of our industry.

Rachael Robertson:

Rachael was the youngest and just the second female expedition leader to Davis Station in Antarctica. Every little thing can become an issue in this pressure-cooker environment. In fact a $30M science program was nearly stopped over whether the bacon should be soft or crispy! With great humour, insight and humility Rachael brought the lessons she learned about leadership and teamwork in this toughest place to our conference and emphasised the importance of fostering a culture of respect, even when it means having tough conversations.

Leah Calnan:

With almost 30 years in the real estate industry, Leah brought us up to speed with the latest proposed legislative updates, ensuring we are well-informed and compliant with current regulations, and are well prepared for future changes as they are rolled out over the next 12 – 18 months.

Rikki Markota:

Rikki is one of realestate.com.au’s Rent Specialists, with the sole focus of supporting the property management industry. Rikki’s data and insights helped us in gaining a better understanding of consumers needs and how to achieve marketing success, focusing on connecting with people in the industry and delivering excellent service.

Chelsea Pottenger:

Chelsea is a psychology postgraduate, an international motivational speaker and accredited mindfulness and meditation coach. Her address provided us with lifelong tools to adopt into our daily routine to reduce stress and burnout and helping us tap into positive energy and build resilience. Chelsea’s focus on wellbeing and mindfulness was a timely reminder of the importance of self-care in our demanding roles.

In addition to the insightful sessions, we were treated to a performance by a magnificent magician, adding a touch of wonder and entertainment to the day. It was a perfect blend of professional development and light-hearted fun.

The conference was a fantastic opportunity for our team to come together, learn from industry leaders, and leave feeling inspired and equipped with new tools to excel in our roles. We look forward to implementing these learnings and continuing to grow as a team. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a success. Here’s to another year of growth and excellence in property management!
