It’s a Melbourne darling and considered one of the best markets in Victoria. Established in 1867, not only is it the oldest running market - but it’s also a hub for delightfully fresh produce and fantastic food! Gasworks Farmer’s Market
Proudly accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association, this vibrant market space is full of aromatic cakes and jams, fresh produce and beautiful flowers - as well as a thriving resident arts studio. Not only is this market bustling, but it also has historical sentimentality - as it is located at the original South Melbourne Gas Plant. Held on the third Saturday of every month, you’ll be able to spend the morning lounging on the grass, reflecting on a piece of the city’s history, and sampling some of the best local food Melbourne has to offer!

A fantastic volunteer effort by the community members of Elwood, this is a market with a difference as it’s a major fundraising event for Elwood Primary School.
