Nothing is more comforting in winter than eating delicious food, and luckily for us we have some of Melbourne’s best chefs right in our backyard. Whether you’re new to the area, or looking for something new to try, there’s always something delicious happening Bayside! In this C&G Blog, we round up some of the best places to eat in Bayside.

Ichi Ni Nana Izakaya, St Kilda

Melbourne’s premier Izakaya experience. Ichi Ni has taken its place alongside neighbouring St. Kilda institutions with its unique design and central location. Providing a casual and lively dining atmosphere, Ichi Ni offers an extensive menu complimented with unmatched views overlooking Port Phillip Bay. Ichi Ni accommodates a full and traditional Japanese menu that caters to all tastes – yakitori, sushi, sashimi and Japanese tapas.

Plain Sailing, Elwood

Plain Sailing is a gleaming corner diner at the base of an apartment building just a few hundred metres from Elwood Beach. The vegetarian friendly restaurant offers modern Melbourne meets Middle Eastern inspired dishes that put flavour first and health as a bonus!

Andrew’s Hamburgers, Albert Park

Andrew’s Hamburgers is a Melbourne institution that has been operating since 1939! You’d struggle to find a better burger in Melbourne than Andrew’s classic burger with the lot (that’s lettuce, cooked onions, egg, bacon, tomato, double cheese and tomato sauce!) The recipe hasn’t changed for 70 years because if something’s already perfect, why change it? Pair your burger with a classic side of chips, potato cakes, dimmies and old-school sodas and you’ve got an authentic burger joint experience.

Hurricane Handsome, Port Melbourne

There’s no shortage of breakfast and great coffee options in Port Melbourne, but Hurricane Handsome is an absolute favourite with the locals - and for good reason! Located across from the Port Phillip Library, this little hidden gem boasts delicious, ethically sourced coffee from Madamimadam, hearty meals that are excellent value for money, and top service from their fantastic front of house team.

FIGO Pizza, Elwood

Homestyle Italian dishes & pizza with classic toppings served in a snug, casual setting - perfect for wintertime! FIGO specialises in genuine authentic Italian pizza which never fails to impress. A must try is their house made ravioli with a recipe from western Piedmont, which is both delicate and delicious. It also wouldn’t be an Italian meal without a scoop (or three!) of pistachio gelato.
